Introducing Our Incoming Pastor

Justin Burnett served as a missions engagement director for Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas. He accepted his call to vocational ministry after two pilgrimages to the Holy Land—most recently continuing his theological education at Asbury Theological Seminary with plans to conclude his MDiv at Duke. Justin grew up in the Springfield, Missouri area and completed his undergraduate studies at Drury University. In his spare time, Justin enjoys Bible study, spending time with family, nature, travel, film, playing pickle ball, and sacred music.

Join us for an adventure as kids learn how to Find Their Strength in God! Each morning will be packed with fun and faith — including Bible stories, science experiments, crafts, music, recreation, and snacks.

Meet the Pastor

Please join us for a special “Meet the Pastor” onboarding event as we
continue to welcome our new pastor, Rev. Justin Burnett, to First United
Methodist Church of Warsaw. The event will be held on Sunday, July 26th from
1 to appropriately 3:15 p.m. at the church and will be facilitated by the
Missouri Annual Conference and hosted by Carla King, a certified Onboarding
Facilitator for the Conference. Come share in fellowship and help us
celebrate this exciting new chapter in the life of our church family!

Bring in a Pound!

We are having an old-fashioned pantry shower for Pastor Justin. If you’d like to participate, please bring a pound of a non-perishable good to the church throughout the month of July! We will have cookies to celebrate this week Sunday, July 12th! We want him to feel appreciated.

For example: A can of food weighs a pound, 4 “C” batteries, 80 quarters, a pound of sugar.

Any excess will be donated to The Blessing Box/ Soup & More!

We will perform on Sunday, July 19th.

Matching Gift

We are offering a chance to match a gift $3,000 for the kid’s summer food program. Simply write “Kid’s food” in memo!

Summer Meals for Kids

The summer food program provides three breakfasts and five lunches to an average of 450 children up to age 18 per week during the summer break. Benton Co. Salvation Army is asking for your help with funding this program. Mail your donation to: Salvation Army, PO Bos 1432, Warsaw, Mo 65355 or drop it off at 1872 Commercial St, Monday—Wednesday between 10am-2pm.

Blessing Box

July’s suggested Blessing Box donations are: canned or dried fruit, powdered milk, canned or pouched meats and fish, ramen noodles, hot or cold cereal, toilet paper, bar soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste. . Give as your heart leads!

Coffee Time

Join us for a donut and conversation in the The Gathering Place every Sunday from 7:30-8:10 AM.

Soup & More

Soup & more community meal every Thursday from 4:30 PM to 5:30PM. Take a break from cooking & join us for food & fellowship.

Mission Candle

We have a new mission candle available to be lit to the glory of God and honor or memory of a person or event, which would be listed in our bulletin each week. This is a great way to support our mission and express our love. An example: “The mission candle is lit to the glory of God and in loving memory of ” .” Your loving offering, of any amount, will support our local missions e.g. Blessing Box, Benevolence Fund, Soup & More.

Lead Hymns: Once a Month Opportunity

We are starting a rotation for first service hymn leaders and would love your help. No experience needed—just a willing heart! Lead a hymn, encourage the congregation, and share the joy of worship. Not interested in leading but want to share your talents? Try performing special music! Interested? Contact our worship coordinator!
